Volunteer to be a Trishaw Bike Pilot

The trishaw bike is a three-wheeled battery-powered bike with a cushioned seat in the front that holds 1-2 passengers. The seat is unobstructed, so passengers can see everything around them as they ride the bike. The bike includes an electric-assist motor that is controlled by the volunteer “pilot” to allow for a smoother, supportive ride.

For Our Residents & Tenants

The trishaw bike offers GlenFields residents and Orchard Estate tenants with limited mobility the opportunity to go on a bike ride, be outside on Prairie Trail enjoying nature, and feel the wind in their hair. Passengers experience joy, smiles, laughter, and relaxation. In addition, they tell stories, talk about life experiences, and have meaningful conversations with their pilot.

The bike was purchased thanks to a grant, in addition to generous support from Glencoe Regional Health Medical Staff.
