Our work and impact are only possible thanks to generous gifts.
There are many ways to give back. Any and all of these gift options can be directed in a way that matches the impact you wish to have. Contact us at 320-864-7065 or [email protected] if you have questions and want to discuss any of these in more detail. We’re here to help, and we’d be honored to partner with you.
Credit Card – using our secure online donation form, make a one-time or a monthly gift.
Check – your check can be made payable to GRH Foundation and mailed to us at:
GRH Foundation
1805 Hennepin Ave. N.
Glencoe, MN 55336
Cash – while we don’t advise it, especially in large amounts, we do accept cash gifts that are mailed or given to us in-person.
Donor-Advised Fund – you can direct grants from an existing donor-advised fund that you’ve established at a charity or community foundation. Our tax ID number is 41-1625505, which you may need when recommending the grant.
Securities – giving appreciated securities, like publicly-traded stock, is easy and has tax advantages. By transferring the stock directly to us, you avoid capital gains taxes that would be due if you sold it. And you receive a charitable tax deduction based on the market value of the stock. Contact us for more details.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) – this is a popular option for people aged 70½ or older. You can direct gifts to us from your traditional IRA up to $100,000 per year, and you avoid paying income tax on the transfer. Doing this can help satisfy a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) should you have one.
Real Estate – we may be in a position to accept your home, a vacation property, or farmland. We do not accept timeshares. When giving real estate, you pay no capital or other tax that might be due if you sold it yourself, and you receive a charitable tax deduction equal to the fair market value.
Agricultural Commodities – farmers have a unique opportunity to give commodities, removing them from your inventory and avoiding the income, Medicare, and self-employment taxes you may need to pay if you made a cash sale. This type of gift does not offer a charitable tax deduction, and you can likely take the deduction for your production costs, which may allow you to use the standard deduction when filing taxes each year. We advise discussing this option with your accountant first, then contacting us so we can explain the process.
Legacy Giving – planning a gift for the future is one way to leave a legacy, support our mission, and ensure you have access to your assets when you need them. Learn about some easy and popular ways you can plan a future gift to the Foundation.
