Hospital
As the full-time athletic trainer at Glencoe-Silver Lake (GSL) High School, I work closely with student-athletes to support their health and performance. My role includes event coverage and after-school training room hours, where I focus on sports medicine – the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. In addition to my work at the school, I also provide outpatient rehabilitation services at Glencoe Regional Health.
I was drawn to the medical field by a passion for helping others and a desire to educate people about their health. I chose athletic training specifically because of my own experience growing up in sports without access to an athletic trainer — an absence that highlighted the critical need for this role in supporting young athletes.
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing patients return to the activities they love after dedicating so much effort to their recovery. I’m especially passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of athletes and building strong, lasting relationships along the way.
Originally from a small town along the Missouri River in western Iowa, I’ve always appreciated the outdoors. I enjoy spending my free time hunting, fishing, and gardening, as well as cooking, reading, and connecting with friends and family.
