Scholarship Recipients

Sanken-Hatz Scholarship

Our longstanding Sanken-Hatz Scholarship was founded thanks to the generosity of Carl Sanken, a farmer from the Biscay area, Don Hatz, a farmer and postal clerk from the Glencoe area. Since its inception, many others have contributed to this fund. This opportunity is for students pursuing healthcare careers with a preference for patient-facing roles. Multiple recipients will be selected, and the average award is $1,000 per student.

Carver Family Scholarship – NEW!

This donor-funded Carver Family Scholarship was founded this year! It focuses on a student who desires to work in a rural setting, is pursuing a healthcare career, and is originally from or has a permanent residential address within the current Glencoe-Silver Lake (GSL) School District. One student will be selected for the $2,500 award in 2025.

  • High school seniors and high school graduates, including non-traditional students
  • Students pursuing degrees at vocational, community, and/or technical schools
