TeleHeart Services – Convenient Video Visits

In addition to in-person appointments at the Glencoe Clinic with our consulting cardiologists (shown below) from the Minneapolis Heart Institute (MHI), we also offer face-to-face video appointments (by any MHI cardiologist). This service provides a convenient opportunity for patients to be seen sooner by a cardiologist without traveling to the Twin Cities.

What to Expect

If labs and tests have been ordered by the cardiologist, we will ask the patient to come in early before their appointment to complete those tests, and the results will be ready by the appointment time.

During the appointment, a nurse at our Glencoe Clinic operates the secure, HIPAA-compliant video visit with a cardiologist who is located at a Minneapolis Heart Institute Clinic. The cardiologist and patient can hear and see each other on the computer monitor, and can ask questions and discuss the patient’s heart health. To aid in the exam, a special Bluetooth stethoscope is used. The nurse in the Glencoe Clinic places the stethoscope on the patient, and the cardiologist can listen to the patient’s heart, lungs, and abdomen – all in real time, remotely!
