I am a registered and licensed dietitian, as well as a certified diabetes care and education specialist. As a diabetes educator, I work one-on-one with patients to help them plan meals that include healthier carbohydrate choices, while helping them understand insulin, blood sugar levels, benefits of activity, and ways to avoid pitfalls. I work with patients with heart conditions that may require diet change, patients with kidney disease, and women during pregnancy. I also promote lifestyle changes to achieve weight loss and to incorporate activity into daily life.
People hear things about nutrition and diet, but they don’t always get the important information from headlines. I really enjoy helping my patients understand where they can cut the “bad stuff” and add better foods. I want them to live at their healthiest, no matter what challenges they face.
I live in Glencoe with my husband. We have two adult daughters who are currently pursuing healthcare-related careers. We enjoy doing things as a family and are avid Twins baseball fans. I love to do strength training workouts at home or go for brisk walks outside. It’s no wonder I am a dietitian – I’ve loved food and cooking my whole life. I am always looking for new ways to prepare foods with healthy carbohydrates and less sodium, calories, and fat.
