Kidney Care

Nephrologists are providers who have advanced training that enable them to diagnose, treat, and manage conditions that affect kidney function. The kidneys filter blood to remove waste and extra fluid from the body in the form of urine. Conditions treated by nephrologists include kidney disease, kidney infections, and kidney stones. Nephrologists also oversee care for patients who need kidney dialysis and/or kidney transplant due to renal failure.

Insurance Coverage & Referrals

Because insurance plans vary, we encourage you to check with your insurance provider before scheduling to understand your specific coverage. This includes whether a referral or prior authorization is required, and whether both the provider and facility are in‑network with your plan to help avoid unexpected out‑of‑pocket costs.

At Glencoe Regional Health, a referral is required to schedule appointments with our Nephrology providers.
